Congratulations Avery on being selected as The Chatham Club, Athlete of the Month for July!
Tell us a little bit about yourself…
What is your name, what grade are you in, what school, what sport do you play, and what position?
My name is Avery Loock and I am going to be a senior at Chatham High School! I swim and play field hockey.
What is your favorite thing about playing on your team and sport and school?
My favorite thing about my team/sport are my teammates. They are some of my best friends and they make training much more enjoyable.
How long have you been training with Robbie?
I have been training with Robbie for about a year and a half.
Why do you enjoy training at TCC with Robbie?
I love training at TCC with Robbie because he makes it more than just lifting. He has his music going, is always chatting with everyone, and is overall just a really fun experience.
What is your favorite exercise and why?
My favorite exercise is chin ups because they are the exercise that I have made the most progress with in the last few months.
What is your least favorite exercise and why?
My least favorite exercise is box jumps because I am always a little intimidated by the height of the boxes.
Have you seen any improvements in your strength, agility, speed and confidence to your training?
I have seen many improvements both in the pool and on land. Robbie’s training has made me physically stronger while also building my confidence. Before Robbie, I had never done any strength training so this was all new for me. Now, I feel like he has taught me so many new skills that I can take with me for years to come.
What are your goals for this year?
My goals for this year are continuing to get stronger both physically and mentally.
What is one of the quotes that you live by and why?
One of my favorite quotes is something my dad taught me which is “the only way to eat an elephant is in small chunks”. It has taught me that no matter how big a problem or obstacle may seem, all you have to do is take it one step at a time.
