Ginny is approaching an incredible milestone—30 years as a member of The Chatham Club. While her fitness journey has evolved over the years, her commitment to staying healthy and active has remained constant. When she’s at the club, you’ll often find her chatting, laughing, and connecting with fellow members and staff. Ginny brings a vibrant energy to the community and is truly a valued part of what makes the club special.
Congratulations Ginny on being selected as The Chatham Club, Member of the Month for May! Tell us a little bit about yourself…
1.) What brought you to The Chatham Club?
I originally came to the club because they were one of the few facilities in the area that offered spinning. I had done many European bike trips in the 1990’s and wanted to stay in good shape for upcoming trips.
2.) What accomplishments/changes have you made since joining The Chatham Club?
My fitness goals have changed over the years. Whether it was recovering for a double knee replacement or preparing for an upcoming bike trip, one constant I always had was to maintain overall body strength.
3.) What do you like about the club?
All the staff are pleasant and friendly. As soon as you come in, someone is greeting you with “good morning!” The Chatham Club feels unique in that sense compared to the big, impersonal gyms like Lifetime or Equinox. The club has always done a good job of updating equipment over the years.
4.) What do you like about the personal training the club offers?
The personal training is excellent. They adjust the training according to your needs or what you want to accomplish. They all must like working there because several have been at the club for many years.
5.) What are your favorite exercises?
My favorite exercises are bench squats while holding a 5lb dumbbell and balance work that Brett has me do (which is necessary at age 89).
6.) What are your least favorite exercises?
At this point in my life, I like all the exercises that I do.
7.) What do you like to do outside of the club?
Outside of the club I like walking.
8.) Do you have any upcoming goals that you’re currently focusing on?
Right now, I’m trying to stay strong and healthy so I can keep enjoying life.
