Member of the Month
The Member of the Month for May is Stephanie Karcher. Stephanie joined The Chatham Club a little over a year ago when she and her family moved to the area. She started playing sports as a kid and has stayed active ever since. She has been remarkably consistent at the club, taking classes and strength training since having her newborn, and is not afraid to push herself to meet her goals. Her husband is also a member, so we see that health and fitness run strong in her family. Here is what she had to say during her interview.
What do you like most about The Chatham Club?
I love the entire staff! Everyone is so nice. I have belonged to other clubs, but none of them compared to here. The class offerings are amazing! Every boutique class studio that you could go to is all found in the classes offered here. It’s a one-stop fitness shop. The amenities and workout equipment are great, and I love the genuine neighborhood feel of this club.
What do you like most about Personal Training?
I have been training with Michael for a year now, and I love that he gives me exercises and routines that are different from the classes. It is very motivating how it pushes me and breaks me out of my comfort zone. I love the newness of the exercises and the support and challenges that Personal Training provides.
What are some of your favorite exercises?
I love the tire flip and sled pushes and pulls when we can get outside. Indoors, I like free-weight leg presses, cable rotations, and dead bugs for core strength. My favorite cardio piece is the Ski Erg.
Any least favorite exercises?
Walking lunges come to mind. I’m also not in love with Renegade Rows and DB Man-makers.
What do you enjoy doing outside of the club?
I love to go golfing, jogging, and skiing. When I’m not doing those things, I mostly chase my kids, who are getting bigger and faster each day.
Any upcoming goals?
I’m working towards and getting closer to returning to being under my pre-baby weight. Other than that, I’m just looking to stay active and healthy for my family.
Keep up the great work, Stephanie, and thank you for all the support to the club you have given!
