Member of the Month – Ray Sadighi
The Member of the Month for October is Ray Sadighi! After spending many years at another facility, he felt he needed a change, and a good friend recommended The Chatham Club. He joined The Chatham Club a little over a year ago and couldn’t be happier with his decision. Ray has been a consistent fixture in the morning workout crew and all his hard work and dedication has paid off.
What do you like most about the Club?
I love the cleanliness! It is so clean. The amenities in the locker room and the showers are great! The people here are so professional and nice! Just a great staff to be around!
What is your routine like?
I get up at 4am every morning and make my way to the club by 4:30. I’ll sit in my car catching up on sports and news on my phone while waiting for the doors to open. I’m in the club and getting going right at 5 am. Monday, Wednesday, & Friday I start the day with the Stairmaster and Bike. Tuesday, Thursday, & Saturday I’ll start with 4 miles on the treadmill and some more time on the bike. Each day I do a mixture of jumping rope, ball slams, plyometric, functional movements, and ball work to keep the heart rate up. On Saturdays, I’ll take advantage of the outdoor turfed area and run sprints and hit the tires with the sledgehammer. After the workout, it’s off to the sauna and showers before heading home to start my workday. On Sundays, I play on a soccer team that is lots of fun and active.
What changes in yourself have you seen since coming here?
Mentally, it puts me in a great place when I finish my workouts. I always feel a surge of energy and feel fulfilled. It sets the tone for the day! Physically, it has helped me maintained my fitness level and I feel good and healthy all the time.
What are your favorite exercises?
I love jumping rope, using the treadmill for my 4-mile runs, pushups, and any kind of abdominal work.
What are your least favorite exercises?
Hands down, my least favorite movement is doing Mountain Climbers. I avoid them at all costs.
What do you enjoy doing outside of the Club?
The thing I love the most is traveling. I absolutely love visiting different places and learning about their culture. I’m a people person and love meeting new people and talking with them about their backgrounds and really get to know them. I definitely love music. It’s a must for me. Music is what keeps the world going. I also enjoying playing soccer on Sundays.
What are some of your upcoming goals?
The main objective is to stay healthy and maintain my fitness level. Not so much a goal, but something I’ve been focused on lately is paying attention to the ingredients in the foods I eat. I want to stay healthy and making good, educated decisions with my food choices is key.
We applaud Ray for all his hard work and his commitment to fitness. We’re happy to have you in The Chatham Club family!
