Congratulations to Maddie DeLong, our April Athlete of the Month at The Chatham Club! A dedicated lacrosse player at Oak Knoll, Maddie has been training with Michael for just three months and has already seen significant improvements in her strength, agility, and overall performance. Her hard work, determination, and commitment to getting better each day make her a standout athlete. Keep up the great work, Maddie!
What sport do you play? Where? What position?
I play lacrosse at Oak Knoll as a midfielder and defender. Midfield keeps me involved in both offense and defense, while defense challenges my footwork and positioning.
What is your favorite thing about your team, sport or school?
I love the team culture and friendships. Everyone plays at a high level, pushing me to improve, but they’re also incredibly supportive, making it a great environment.
Why do you enjoy training with Michael? How long have you trained with him?
Michael pushes me harder than I would on my own. His workouts are structured, challenging, and keep me motivated to improve. I have training with Michael about three months, and I’ve already seen major improvements in my performance.
What are your favorite exercises?
I like box squats and pull-ups because they build strength across multiple muscle groups. Box squats help with explosive power, while pull-ups improve my upper body and core strength.
What are your least favorite exercises?
Lateral lunges—they require both flexibility and strength, making them tough. But I know they help with agility and stability, which are key for defense.
Have you seen any improvements in strength/agility/speed thanks to your training?
Yes! My strength, balance, and agility have all improved. I feel faster, more powerful, and more confident on the field.
What are some of your upcoming goals?
I want to keep building strength, improve my agility and footwork as a defender, and become a more effective player overall.
Thank you Maddie! Have a great season!
