Athlete of the Month – Kelsey Clark
Kelsey Clark is our January Athlete of the Month! A defender on the Cornell University lacrosse team, Kelsey credits her success on the field to the relationships she’s built with her teammates and the lessons she’s learned about teamwork and dedication. Training with Robbie at The Chatham Club for the past year and a half has further sharpened her skills, improving her speed, agility, and confidence while helping her set and achieve ambitious athletic goals.
What sport do you play? Where? What position?
I play lacrosse at Cornell University and I am a defender.
What is your favorite thing about your team, sport or school?
My favorite thing about my team is the relationships I have built on and off the field. Everyone is incredibly supportive and motivates me to be my best everyday. Cornell lacrosse has taught me the importance of putting my team first in everything I do, which I carry with me in all areas of my life.
Why do you enjoy training with Robbie? How long have you trained with him?
I have been training with Robbie for a year and a half. I love training with Robbie because he genuinely cares about the progress of all his athletes. His support helps me stay focused and improve both my skills and my mindset, which are so important as a college athlete. The environment he creates is one of hard work and accountability which makes every training session feel rewarding.
What are your favorite exercises?
My favorite exercises are box jumps and change of direction drills. Both have significantly improved my speed and explosiveness. They challenge me physically and mentally, pushing me to constantly improve my reaction time and agility on the field.
What are your least favorite exercises?
My least favorite exercise is banded box squats. These are challenging, but have helped improve my squat strength and overall power.
Have you seen any improvements in strength/agility/speed thanks to your training?
Over the past year, I have seen significant improvement in my strength, speed, and agility. Robbie does a great job tailoring my workouts to enhance my performance on the lacrosse field. He has also given me the confidence to push myself further than I thought possible in my lifting and conditioning.
What are some of your upcoming goals?
My goal for this year is to continue improving in all aspects of strength and conditioning. Specifically, I want to improve my change of direction speed to strengthen my defensive footwork on the field.
Thank you, Kelsey! We look forward to your next season!
