Congratulations Claire on being selected as The Chatham Club, Athlete of the Month for April! Tell us a little bit about yourself…
1). What is your name, what grade are you in, what school do you attend, what sport do you play, and what position?
My name is Claire Hoffman and I play lacrosse at the Pingry School. I am a junior defender and am committed to playing at Lafayette College.
2). What is your favorite thing about playing a sport in high school?
My favorite aspect of playing lacrosse at Pingry is the close bonds and relationships I have formed with my teammates and coaches. I love the energy, fast pace, and competitiveness of the sport.
3). How long have you been training with Robbie?
I have been training with Robbie since my freshman year.
4). Why do you enjoy training at TCC with Robbie?
Robbie pushes me in every workout till failure, making me physically and mentally stronger. I have definitely noticed improvement in my strength, speed, and stamina from training with Robbie.
5). What are your favorite exercises and why?
My favorite exercises are bench press and box squats because I have seen the most progress in those workouts during my time with Robbie.
6). What are your least favorite exercises and why?
My least favorite exercises are pull-ups and chin-ups, especially with weight, because they always make my muscles shake, and I reach failure so quickly.
7). Have you seen any improvements in your strength, agility, speed and confidence to your training?
I’ve definitely seen improvements in my fitness since I started going to Robbie. I have increased my weight and reps in all my workouts at the gym.I feel well-conditioned for every practice and game. I have also seen an improvement in my mental toughness and confidence on the field because I know I am prepared for any challenge.
8). What are your goals for this year?
My goals for this year are to win another State Championship with the Pingry team and to continue preparing myself for D1 lacrosse.
9). What is one of the quotes that you live by and why?
My mom and I always say, “own your space” because it reminds me to play with confidence and purpose on the field. It means trusting my instincts, communicating, and stepping up in big moments. It’s about knowing I’ve earned my place and competing like it.”
