Members of the Month – Francesca and Isabel Zarbin

The Members of the Month for September are Francesca and Isabel Zarbin.  Francesca and Isabel have been members of The Chatham Club for 10 years. They began their journey here when they were just 8 years old. Their older brother had started here in our squash program and because of his enjoyment of squash, they followed in his footsteps. They began doing lessons with a variety of squash pros and have absolutely loved the experiences they have had here at the club.

What do you like most about the Club?

Francesca –I love that I can play squash, workout, and stretch all in one place.  I love that it’s close to my home too

Isabel –I love the atmosphere here.  It has a relaxed feel to it and all the people have been great.  It feels good here.

What changes have you seen in yourself since being a member?

Francesca –I have become much more active and seen great development in my squash and fitness levels.  It’s all part of my lifestyle now.

Isabel –The lifestyle.  I feel I’ve developed a culture of fitness, and I just want to keep it going

What do you like most about the Squash Program?

Francesca –The camps were super fun!  Coaches have been phenomenal.

Isabel –I enjoyed all the lesson options.  You can do singles, doubles, or group lessons.  The coaches have been so supportive.

What do you enjoy doing outside of the Club?

Francesca –I enjoy playing the viola.  I love reading fantasy and sci-fi books. I love to sing.  I’m currently in an acapella group.

Isabel –I play the piano and produce music on the garage band app.  I also practice hip hop dancing as well as some other forms of dance.

Both girls enjoy hanging out with each other and love discussing philosophy.

What are some of your upcoming goals?

Francesca –I’m heading to Dartmouth University and I’m looking to continue working out.  While studying biochemistry and philosophy, I’d love to join an acapella group at school.

Isabel –I’ll be taking a gap year and volunteering a lot of my time at the University Hospital in Newark.  I will continue to workout and I’m looking to start a dance group as I prepare for college next year.

Two intelligent and talented girls that we’d like to wish all the best and great success in their futures!
