Member of the Month – Brent Taylor
The Member of the Month for August is Brent Taylor! Brent is closing in on his first year here as a member and he has definitely made the most of it by making some great changes in himself since joining. He moved to the area to be closer to his family and his new grandson. He was battling some knee issues and knew it was time to get the knees healthy and get himself fit in the process. He began physical therapy and decided to join The Chatham Club to help with his goals. He took advantage of his complimentary training session and rolled right into Personal Training to continue on the right track. Since doing this, he has seen a huge increase in his ability to do everyday activities without effort. His increased leg strength has enabled him to climb stairs effortlessly and pain free. He has seen more mobility and power in his golf game and has had a significant amount of weight loss to boot. He is loving The Chatham Club and loving being back to an active lifestyle.
What do you like most about the Club?
I love that it has a very comfortable atmosphere. It has great equipment, a very clean locker room and facility. I’d say pristine. I love the staff who all make it very welcoming. It’s my place to escape to. It’s my happy place.
What do you like most about Personal Training?
I started Training with Jason C. almost immediately after joining. We have built a great working relationship and friendship. I love the camaraderie we have, our good talks between sets. He knew my needs and created a great program which has led to the great progress I have made so far.
What are your favorite exercises?
My favorites are any of the rotational exercises. They have benefited me on the golf course.
What are your least favorite exercises?
I had a bad experience with the seated cable row, so I’d have to say that one for now.
What do you enjoy doing outside of the Club?
I love spending time with my family and new grandson. I enjoy playing golf, swimming, and traveling. I also enjoy composing and playing music. I have been playing the piano since I was 5 years old.
What are some of your upcoming goals?
I plan to keep getting stronger and some more weight loss before a wedding in November. Overall, just looking to continue this journey to a healthier me.
