Athlete of the Month – Tyler Katt

The Chatham Club is proud to recognize Tyler Katt as our February Athlete of the Month! A defenseman for the Pingry lacrosse team, Tyler values the team’s strong camaraderie and winning culture. Training with Robbie for two years, he’s built strength and explosiveness through barbell squats and box step-ups, pushing himself to improve on the field. As he heads into his senior season, Tyler is focused on continuing Pingry’s winning tradition. Keep up the great work, Tyler!

What sport do you play? Where? What position?

I am a defenseman for the Pingry lacrosse team.

What is your favorite thing about your team, sport or school?

My favorite thing about being on the Pingry lacrosse team is the tight knit community of guys and the winning culture.

Why do you enjoy training with Robbie? How long have you trained with him?

I enjoy training with Robbie because his mentality pushes me to go hard in the weight room.  I’ve been training with him for around two years.

What are your favorite exercises?

My favorite exercises are barbell squat and barbell box step ups. These are great because they mimic explosive movements that transfer over to the field.

What are your least favorite exercises?

One of my least favorite exercises is reverse hyper extensions because they are hard to get out of.

Have you seen any improvements in strength/agility/speed thanks to your training?

I definitely think training with Robbie has allowed me to improve my overall strength as well as explosiveness on the field because of the correlation between the workouts and lacrosse.

What are some of your upcoming goals?

My goals for this year or to continue the tradition of winning at Pingry and have a great senior season.

Thank you, Kelsey! We look forward to your next season!
